The Green Production Guide was established in 2010 to help reduce the entertainment industry's carbon footprint and environmental impact. It was developed under a partnership between the Producers Guild of America Foundation's PGA Green committee and what is now known as the Sustainable Production Alliance (SPA), a consortium of Hollywood's largest production companies dedicated to advancing sustainability in film and television. SPA members include Amazon Studios, Amblin Partners, Disney, Fox Corporation, NBCUniversal, Netflix, Participant, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Warner Bros. Discovery, & ViacomCBS.
This site features a worldwide database of vendors that provide sustainable goods and services for film and television production. We also offer tools and resources to help implement a sustainable plan for your production, such as the Production Environmental Accounting Report (PEAR) to calculate a production's carbon footprint; the Production Environmental Actions Checklist (PEACH) that details best practices for each department on a film and television production; Sustainable Production Infographics, a helpful visual guide to review best practices in the office, on location, and on stage; and sample e-memos, signs and flyers to help communicate efforts to cast & crew.
We believe that providing common tools and resources to film and television professionals is vitally important to reaching our goal of reducing the industry's environmental impacts across the globe.
